Sweynes Howse 6 – If the strangely-shaped stone found on the Worm’s Head Causeway is in fact a stone axe, then it is likely that it was made in the Neolithic period when the people who made chambered tombs like Sweyne’s Howse, and who cleared the land for cultivation, left behind polished stone axes in this locality.
