Portland Raised Beach Deposits 4.41 – Pleistocene, Ipswichian, last interglacial, raised beach deposits of pebbles and beach stones mixed with seashells, dating from about 125, 000 years BP when the sea level was between 6.95 and 10.75 metres higher than present levels. Some of these ancient stones have holes and burrows made by sea creatures before the beach material was consolidated hundreds of thousands of years ago.
