Wave-Cut Platform at Strawberry Hill 9 – Outcrop of dark, uniformly-textured volcanic basalt of Late Eocene age on the Oregon Coast. This is a remnant of a wave-cut bench carved during the Pleistocene period when sea-levels were higher than today. This outcrop shows a characteristic “stepped” formation.
