Otter Shells (8)

Otter Shells (8) – Empty gaping paired Common Otter Shells (Lutraria lutraria) washed up on sandy Rhossili Beach. Some of the shells still have remnants of the brown papery periostracum covering. The shells are frequently stained blue-black from deep burial in the offshore sediments. P1270798aBlog8
